SEQUIM –– Yes, and . . .
Making it up as they go along, Olympic Theatre Arts will follow that classic rule of improvisational comedy as the Tweaking Reality troupe presents an Unusual Evening in Sequim tonight.
Familiar actors Dave McInnes, Danny Willis, Pamela Ziemann and Olivia Shea will square off in an off-the-cuff version of the theater’s monthly First Friday productions.
“Improvisation is about thinking on the spot, taking the situation and running with it, saying yes to whatever comes your way,” said McInnes. “It is the ultimate experience of being in the moment, which, really is what acting is all about.”
Olympic Theatre Arts began presenting An Unusual Evening in Sequim in April with its tribute to Shakespeare as a way to bring performing arts to First Friday Art Walk. It has encouraged people to stroll through Art Walk and then make the Olympic Theatre Arts center their last stop for a taste of theater arts.
“We’re really excited to add improvisational theater to our menu of theater treats,” OTA trustee Elaine Caldwell said. “It’s fun and entertaining, a perfect end to a First Friday evening.”
The “Sequimprov” extravaganza is at 6:30 p.m. in the Gathering Hall of the Olympic Theatre Arts Center, 414 N. Sequim Ave.
The show is free, and wine will be sold by the glass.
