RowanTree, the Celtic folk duo of Mary Tulin of Sequim and Mike Saunders of Gig Harbor, will give its final concerts tonight and Saturday in two different counties.
“As much as we enjoyed playing together,” Tulin said, “with [Saunders’] Sequim-Gig Harbor commute, it seemed best to call it quits sooner rather than later.”
Tonight, RowanTree will bring its six- and 12-string guitars, fiddle and Irish bouzoukis to Wind Rose Cellars, the wine bar in downtown Sequim.
Tulin and Saunders will play a blend of Irish, Scottish and American tunes — “old songs made new,” according to www.MaryTulin.com — from
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There’s no cover charge, provided the patron purchases a glass of wine at Wind Rose, 143 W. Washington St.
On Saturday, the two friends head for rural Jefferson County for a Concerts in the Woods series gig at the Laurel B. Johnson Community Center.
That’s on the Coyle Peninsula at 923 Hazel Point Road, with admission by donation. As usual, all ages are welcome.
