PORT TOWNSEND — The PT Songlines choir will stage its Winter Concert and Participatory Sing, one of just two public performances each year, at the Cotton Building, 607 Water St., this Saturday.
The two-hour gathering will start at 7 p.m. and travel from the traditional to the new, with fresh works by PT Songlines co-director Laurence Cole.
The show also promises two guest artists: Aimee Ringle and Aimee Kelly, both known for their vocal harmonies.
Admission is a suggested donation of $12 to benefit the ReCyclery, Port Townsend’s nonprofit bicycle shop at 1925 Blaine St.
Concert-goers are welcome to donate more or less depending on their ability, said Gretchen Sleicher, also a PT Songlines co-director.
Concert tradition
“A tradition in these concerts is to invite the audience to join the choir in spirited, easy-to-learn songs,” Sleicher added.
PT Songlines is a non-audition, philanthropic choir that welcomes all voices.
Its semiannual performances aim to raise money for local organizations and causes, Sleicher noted.
“All singers are welcome to join when spring singing season starts,” she said, adding that the season in fact starts a little early, Feb. 12, with rehearsals each Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Rosewind Common house, 3131 Haines St.
Singers can register any time between mid-February and mid-March.
