PORT TOWNSEND — Ugly holiday sweaters are called for this Saturday night. But whether you sport one or not, you’re invited to enjoy “The Holiday Sweater Party,” local writer Marshall Brennan’s new play.
In this reading hosted by Key City Public Theatre’s PT Shorts series, we meet the Tanners, a family seeking to move on after the untimely death of their son. Despite their strained relationship with his fiancee, the Tanner bunch throws a last-minute “ugly sweater party” in remembrance of their son, who loved holiday get-togethers.
The hour-long reading will start at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pope Marine Building, on Water Street at Madison Street, and admission is free. Festive treats will be part of the evening, along with prizes for the ugliest, funniest holiday sweaters.
Appearing in “The Holiday Sweater Party” are Sam Cavallero, Charles Duncan, Audrey Jean, David Wayne Johnson, Michelle Stay, Bob Walther and Catherine McNabb, who’s also the director.
