PORT TOWNSEND — This city’s first-Saturday Gallery Walk, a chance to chat with artists and stroll downtown between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., promises silks, chains and Celtic-influenced jewelry, among other art.
Here are some of the spots to visit.
■ The Port Townsend Gallery, 715 Water St., has held over its show of handmade silver pieces by Shirley Moss, aka the Chainmaker, along with jewelry by Addy Thornton, Caroline Littlefield and Andrea Guarino.
This is a diverse display: While Littlefield is influenced by her Celtic heritage, Guarino uses traditional blacksmithing techniques.
■ Gallery 9, at 1012 Water St., is premiering Carolyn Doe’s batiks on silk.
These wax- and dye-layered pieces are on display beside Doe’s oil paintings and Michael Kenney’s artisan jewelry.
■ Daily Bird Pottery, 1011 Water St., will be open during Gallery Walk, but will then close Wednesday, Jan. 7.
Reopening is planned for Jan. 22.
