PORT ANGELES — A convergence of art from across the North Olympic Peninsula and beyond will be the backdrop for two days of free events at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center this weekend.

The opening reception and award presentations for “Art Convergence,” the show filling the center at 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd., will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. today.

At 1 p.m. Saturday, exhibition jurors Michael Paul Miller, a painter and Peninsula College art professor, and Port Townsend sculptor David Eisenhour will give a talk introducing the show.

Celtic harp

Right after their discussion, Lorrie and Ben Parris will give a Celtic harp-classical guitar concert.

The couple will return for three more free Saturday performances at the fine arts center, each from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., on Nov. 30, Dec. 7 and Dec. 21.

Admission is free to the exhibition and to the events, while all of the art is for sale.

“Art Convergence” will stay on display through Jan. 10 at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, whose indoor gallery is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays. Webster’s Woods, the 5-acre art park surrounding the center, is open daily from dawn till dusk.

To preview the works in “Art Convergence,” visit www.PAFAC.org, and to learn more about the center’s offerings, phone 360-457-3532.
