VICTORIA — It’s Family Day at the Royal British Columbia Museum on Monday, when admission is free all day.
That saves more than $16 per adult and $10 per senior citizen and student (all prices are Canadian; the loonie exchanges at 90 U.S. cents).
Guided activities from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. include identifying bones, taking part in a scavenger hunt, sketching in the Natural History gallery, dressing up for photos and having fun with habitat.
The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday.
It is not far from the landing of the MV Coho ferry from Port Angeles, which sails at 8:20 a.m. Monday and arrives in Victoria about 9:30.
It’s just in time to clear Canadian Customs and take the short walk eastbound down Belleville Street to Government Street, where the multistory Royal B.C. Museum loom’s on the southeast corner.
The Coho’s return trip to Port Angeles on Monday will depart at 4 p.m.; allow time to clear U.S. immigration in the Black Ball Ferry Line terminal.
A passport, enhanced driver’s license or other approved Department of Homeland Security identification is required for travel into Canada and return to the United States.
