Ten artisan wineries and cideries from Chimacum to Port Angeles will celebrate the beginning of the end of winter during the two-weekend Red Wine & Chocolate Tour.
The first weekend is from Saturday through Monday, during the Valentine’s/Presidents Day Weekend.
The second weekend will be Feb. 20-21.
Doors will be open for the Olympic Peninsula Wineries celebration from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
Tour tickets are $40. They include wine and chocolate tastings at all 10 wineries/cideries plus a souvenir wine glass.
Tickets can be purchased at http://tinyurl.com/PDN-wine-chocolate or at any participating winery.
Without the ticket, each winery will charge a $7 per person tasting fee.
New this year: Each visitor can bring back a stamped tour ticket on a non-event weekend for one free tasting per winery.
In addition to new red wine releases paired with chocolate treats, some wineries are adding new white wine releases to the mix.
The tour will feature a number of new activities in which visitors are encouraged to engage.
■ Olympic Cellars will offer a Love Lock Fence and local art in the winery’s Gallery of Love.
■ FairWinds Winery’s Pirate Photo Booth will offer a chance to take selfies before double-dipping into dueling chocolate fountains.
■ Alpenfire Cider will present the traditional champagne-making process.
■ Harbinger Winery will offer a Gourmet S’mores Bar.
■ Wind Rose Cellars will offer live music from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. beginning tonight, when Sarah Shea & Chez Quartet will perform.
On Saturday will be Three Fools for Love — Linda Dowdel, Ted Enderle and Ed Donahue.
On Feb. 19, Jeremy & Anna will perform, and on Feb. 20, music will be provided by the Malcolm Clark Trio.
Several wineries will offer special VIP tastings.
