PORT ANGELES — The time has arrived for those who have dreamed of writing a play and seeing it come alive on stage.
The “Find Your Voice” New Writers’ Festival, hosted by Peninsula College, is now accepting original one-act plays on the theme of “What is your sanctuary?” for performance at the college May 31 through June 2.
The submission deadline is just a month away: Friday, March 15.
This brand-new event is about encouraging and connecting with hidden talent on the North Olympic Peninsula, noted Peninsula College drama professor Lara Starcevich.
“There are so many amazing writers out there,” she said.
Starcevich added that she wants to hear from those already familiar with the craft of playwriting as well as those who haven’t realized before that their work could translate into theater.
“We hope to attract more and more folks to the art of playwriting and play production with our new festival,” she said.
