PORT ANGELES — The Second Weekend art walk, a free event, brings Hawaiian music, inner-tube purses and the new Brush-Off Challenge to downtown this Saturday. Among the highlights:
■ Roma Peters, aka Hawaii Amor, will sing and play ukulele from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Elliott’s Antique Emporium, 135 E. First St.
■ Studio Bob, 118½ E. Front St., will host the Brush-Off Challenge, a performance and speed-painting contest among six artists to start at 6 p.m. sharp Saturday.
First the audience will suggest subjects for each one’s 32-by-48-inch painting, and when all six are finished, the spectators will vote on which one is the best. Artists, starting with Doug Parent and Jeanette Painter, will choose their musical soundtracks and set out tip jars. Four more contestants will be drawn from a hat.
Artists should bring their own brushes, but the rest of the supplies will be provided. The venue will be open from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. Saturday, and from noon till 3 p.m. Sunday.

■ The Landing Artists Studio, inside The Landing mall at 115 E. Railroad Ave., features fiber artist Jennifer Bright, maker of the giant jellyfish sculpture on display in The Landing’s ground-floor atrium.
Bright, who uses the Nuno felting technique to make scarves and other wearable art, will be on hand for a reception from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. Saturday.
■ The Heatherton Gallery, also at The Landing mall, is displaying a miniature replica of one of San Francisco’s Victorian “Painted Ladies” homes. Leila Johnston, an architect in San Francisco and the aunt of the Heatherton Gallery’s Thomas East, created this miniature to scale with wooden millwork and tiny furnishings.
Long before computer renderings existed, developers used these replicas to attract investors.
■ Harbor Art, 110 E. Railroad Ave., is an artists’ collective showcasing works in lots of media, from pottery and paintings to those purses made of recycled inner tubes.
Art lovers are invited to meet the gallery’s two new jewelers, Suzy Killins and Jenna Muru, during the Second Saturday reception from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m.
