COYLE — An extra show has been added this month to the schedule at the Laurel B. Johnson Community Center: Loves It, a duo from Austin, Texas, will dish up folk, country, gospel and punk there tonight.
Loves It, made up of bass man Vaughn Walters and singer-guitarist Jenny Parrott, will step up at 7:30 p.m. at the community center at 923 Hazel Point Road.
Like other concerts at this venue, admission is by donation.
Parrott used to play with the band Shotgun Party in Austin while Walters comes from the Shake ’Em Ups; nowadays as Loves It, they like to “bring a modern voice to their favorite sounds,” according to www.LovesItMusic.net.
In their first year, the Loves It pair has played 197 shows in eight countries, and released a debut album titled “Yay.”
It’s “an American original, another step on the road to the stars,” declared Texas country singer and novelist Kinky Friedman.
