PORT TOWNSEND — Lovers of literature can get tastes from some of the world’s best writers as Centrum offers up 10 days of readings during its 41st Port Townsend Writers Conference.
The free readings are open to the public and are held at 7 p.m. at the historic Joseph F. Wheeler Theater at Fort Worden State Park today through next Saturday, July 19.
“Our reading series this year features nationally recognized and critically admired authors with a dynamic mix of aesthetics and forms on display,” said Erin Belieu, Centrum’s artistic director for the Port Townsend Writers’ Conference.
“For those who love literature, or just want to know more about it, the series is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the writing life.”
Tonight’s readings include selections from blues poet Kim Addonizio, Copper Canyon Press poet Gary Copeland Lilley and Eastern Washington University professor Sam Ligon.
Belieu will headline Saturday’s reading, with American South author Emily Rapp reading Sunday.
