PORT ANGELES — Everyone is invited to sing in a “hymn-fest” this Sunday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E. Lopez Ave.
“Through the Church the Song Goes On” is the name of this event, which brings together Everett’s Trinity College Choir and Ensemble and the Holy Trinity choir of Port Angeles.
The event will start at 3:45 p.m. and feature musicians such as Holy Trinity’s Joy Lingerfelt, flutist Sharon Snel and organist Norma Aamodt-Nelson. They and the two choirs will offer hymns from Advent to Pentecost including Lent and Easter, plus readings and other music interspersed.
“A hymn-fest such as this is always inspirational,” said Lingerfelt, adding that a Bach fugue is among the other pieces added to entice listeners.
Two become one
This is a celebration, added Holy Trinity spokeswoman Lucy Nordwell, of two organs becoming one.
“Pipes from Trinity Lutheran College’s earlier campus were recently added to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church organ,” she noted.
Admission Sunday will be by donation, with proceeds to benefit future music programs at Holy Trinity. To learn more, phone 360-452-2323 or visit www.HTLCpa.com.
