COYLE — Dreamtime, a folk-rock duo, will fill the community center here with song Saturday night, and listeners of all ages are invited.
Laura Lee and Jane Justice, both of Port Townsend, will serve up their original songs with vocal harmonies, fiddle and guitar at 7:30 p.m. at the Laurel B. Johnson Community Center, 923 Hazel Point Road on the Coyle peninsula. Admission, as usual with these third-Saturday concerts, is by donation.
Justice and Lee have sung and played as a duo for about a decade now. To illuminate the origin of the name Dreamtime, the women write that when they get together to accompany each other and sing in harmony, “it’s as if the music exists in a dream before we play the first note.”
Lee has released two CDs while Justice is working on her debut album. In addition to Dreamtime, the two play in a trio with percussionist Tamahra Martin of Port Townsend and have been seen and heard at farmers markets in Port Angeles, Chimacum, Port Townsend and Kingston.
