PORT ANGELES — If you’re interested in burlesque, bellydance, Gypsy or steampunk culture, you’ll be pleased to know you can have them all this Saturday night.
“Collision,” a show presented by Merryn Welch and Grindingears Productions, will bring those performance styles, plus a few others, to the stage at Bar N9ne, 229 W. First St., for a $5 cover charge.
The 9 p.m. event, for the 21-and-older crowd, has drag queen Salmonella Riviere as its bearded, high-heeled mistress of ceremonies. She’ll introduce acts well-known and relatively new.
Among the former is Sideshow, a steampunk troupe featuring Welch, dancers Lauren Jeffries-Johnson and Matt McCarthy along with the Mad Fiddler (Robert Downing) and the Maestro (Preston Hughes).
Then there’s Twisted Family, a Port Angeles cabaret-burlesque group combining former Girdle Scouts Mattie Circus and B. Random alongside Sol and Tera Von Tease.
“Collision” also stars dancer Tana Villella, aka Noxious Oxalis, who is known for her appearances on the Alle Stage at Studio Bob in Port Angeles.
An experienced performer, show producer and director, “Noxious delivers a memorable performance,” Welch promised.
