PORT ANGELES — A dance class for people with Parkinson’s disease or other neurological conditions will be offered at the Sons of Norway Hall, 131 W. Fifth St., this Saturday morning.
The class, taught by specially trained instructors Corrie Befort and Deborah Magallanes of Seattle, is set from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Linda Dowdell, a well-known pianist who lives in Sequim, will provide the music.
Admission is a suggested $10 donation, while patients’ spouses and caregivers are invited to come free.
Great music, movement
“This class is for anyone who would enjoy 90 minutes of great music, interesting movement and positive people,” said Darlene Jones, coordinator of the Parkinson’s support group in Port Angeles.
“Accommodations are made for folks with walkers or those who need to remain seated,” she added.
People recovering from strokes or coping with multiple sclerosis are encouraged to join the class.
In addition, support-group meetings for people with Parkinson’s and their caregivers are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. both Wednesday and March 27 at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St.
