PORT LUDLOW — “Is You or Is You Ain’t My Baby,” “Let the Good Times Roll,” “Straighten Up and Fly Right”: These and more make up “Jump!,” the show by Diane Lines and her band at The Bay Club this Saturday night.
“I’ve always loved the barrelhouse, boogie-woogie and early rhythm and blues,” said Lines, the singer and pianist based in Vancouver, B.C.
She and her ensemble will dish those out, and then some, in the first Port Ludlow Arts Council concert of the fall. Show time is 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the club, 120 Spinnaker Place.

6:30 p.m.
Lines is known for her work with pop star Michael Buble — she was his piano player from 2002 to 2004 — as well as for her stints in Vancouver’s Arts Club Theatre productions. She danced, sang and played in “Tapestry: A Tribute to Carole King,” and played piano in “Stoned Soul Picnic,” a tribute to Laura Nyro.
Now she’s out on the road with the band that includes her husband Tony Chamberlist on drums; Jennifer Hodge on acoustic bass and Tim Porter on saxophone, bass and guitar and Bill Abbott on saxophone and flute.
“And we all sing,” Lines added, to tell the story of big-band, swing, jump blues and boogie-woogie.
There weren’t a lot of women prominent in this musical evolution, she said, “and we discuss that in the show: how we’ve come a long way.”
“Jump!” has two parts: a 50-minute act, a break and another 40 minutes. And Lines will have her “Jump!” companion CD available for purchase.
Saturday night’s show is the first in a series of Port Ludlow Arts concerts, to include Everything Fitz on Oct. 24, the Columbia Vocal Ensemble & Concord Chamber Choir on Dec. 8, Pam Drews Phillips on Feb. 7, the Alley Cats on March 7 and the Intersection Music Trio on April 6.
