PORT TOWNSEND — “You Say It’s Your Birthday” is the theme of this Saturday night’s PT Shorts, a free literary reading at the Pope Marine Building, 603 Water St.
In celebration of the Port Townsend Library’s 100th birthday, a slate of stories will be read aloud: “Birthday Moon,” a children’s tale by Fran Asch; “Promises,” a snarky schoolgirl’s story about a birthday gift from her best friend by Ellen Conford; “The Birthday Girl,” Haruki Murakami’s story about a Japanese waitress and a reclusive restaurant owner; and “The Birthday of Madeline Bloor,” a brief poem about an out-of-sight gift.
A variety of Port Townsend librarians will step up for the 7:30 p.m. reading: Cris Wilson, Mirandy Cook, Terrence Campbell and Jody Glaubman, who is retired.
For information about PT Shorts, an hourlong presentation coinciding every first Saturday of the month with the Port Townsend Gallery Walk, see www.KeyCityPublicTheatre.org.
