WEEKEND: Autumnal hues brighten Sequim Art Walk tonight (Friday)

SEQUIM — “Tweaking Reality,” an improvisational comedy troupe, is poised to push the envelope.

Tonight being the night for Sequim’s First Friday Art Walk, the band of actors — Dave McInnes, Olivia Shea, Pamela Ziemann and Danny Willis — will host a free show at 6:30 p.m. at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave. That’s within strolling distance of the cafes, shops and other venues open from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. for the Art Walk.

“It’s fun, it’s fresh,” OTA trustee Elaine Caldwell said of the Tweaking Reality crew. This evening’s improv, she added, “offers the actors and the audience alike an opportunity to press the envelope.” While there’s no charge for the show, OTA’s bar will be open to sell wine by the glass.

The Art Walk itself marks its eighth anniversary tonight with a color theme. Artist, teacher and organizer Renne Brock-Richmond picked orange, so art-walkers may choose to dress or accessorize in that hue as they explore the free art exhibits. For details and a map, see SequimArtWalk.com.

Highlights on tonight’s circuit include:

■ The annual North Olympic Fiber Arts Festival show, “Parallel Patterns,” opens at 5 p.m. at the Museum & Arts Center, 175 W. Cedar St. Visitors are invited to enjoy refreshments, conversation and work by weavers, quilters and other artists.

■ The Blue Whole Gallery, 129 W. Washington St., features artists Robert Bowling and Terianne Stratton in a show titled “Transformation and Adventure.”

■ Colors of Sequim, 139 W. Washington St., is showing off Janie Brackney’s three-dimensional images of houses and neighborhoods as well as other works in oil, watercolor, colored pencil, pen and ink and collage.

■ The Sunshine Café, 145 W. Washington St. displays art by Amy Weber, Jan Kepley and the late Tim Quinn, plus the “affordable art machine” full of Brock-Richmond’s message buttons.

■ R&T Crystals and Beads, 158 E. Bell St., offers treats from Sequim Fresh Catering and jewelry demonstrations with Paulette Hill and Gail McLain.

■ Pacific Pantry, 229 S. Sequim Ave., has Jan Kepley’s fine art photography.

■ The Local Artists’ Resource Center, or LARC, gallery, 425 E. Washington St. just east of Pioneer Park, showcases many artists from Sequim and environs.

■ The Laff Pack Clowns will be roaming downtown, infusing the Art Walk with balloon animals and magic.

■ Union Bank, 901 W. Washington St. near the Costco roundabout, hosts the Olympic Peaks Camera Club show, where visitors can view photography and learn about the club.
