PORT ANGELES — “The Christmas Belles,” the comedy at the Port Angeles Community Playhouse, has its last three shows this weekend: at 7:30 tonight and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.
This is the story of the Futrelle sisters of Fayro, Texas: jailbird Twink (Danielle Lorentzen), pregnant Frankie (Brenda Dunlap) and Honey Raye (Barbara Frederick), plus their in-laws and about-to-be-in-laws.
They’re putting on a Christmas pageant, with the help of Deputy John Curtis Bunter (Steve Chamberlain), a bargain-store Santa Claus also known as Dub Dubberly (Pete Christiansen) and Reynerd the shepherd (Bob Bronsink).
“Christmas Belles” is meant to make people laugh — and it’s working, said director Jim Guthrie, who added that last Friday’s show drew 120 patrons.
“It’s not Shakespeare, but it’s funny,” he said.

Veils and bells
PORT ANGELES — Shula Azhar, Port Angeles’ bellydance troupe, will unfurl their veils tonight at Wine on the Waterfront, upstairs in The Landing mall at 115 E. Railroad Ave.
There’s no cover charge, and all ages are welcome at the 7:30 p.m. performance.
The dancers plan to wear rings on their fingers and bell on their toes in this Christmas-spirited show.

Bolshoi brings it
PORT TOWNSEND — The next Ballet in Cinema presentation arrives at the Rose Theatre, 235 Taylor St., on Sunday.
The Bolshoi Ballet dances “La Bayadere” at 1 p.m., with Svetlana Zakharova and Maria Alexandrova leaping across the movie screen to tell a love story set in India; a bayadere is an Indian temple dancer.

Victorian ‘Venus’
VICTORIA — “Venus in Fur,” David Ives’ popular play about sex, power and desire, is on stage at Victoria’s Belfry Theatre through Dec. 14.
The 90-minute, two-person show was inspired by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch’s 1870 novel Venus in Furs, which inspired the term masochism.
It’s both comedy and drama as Vanda (Celine Stubel) and Thomas (Vincent Gale) explore the book’s roles. The lines between novel and reality blur, and the balance of power shifts back and forth between them.
Curtain times are 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, with matinees at 4 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays at the Belfry, which is in Victoria’s Fernwood neighborhood at 1291 Gladstone Ave.
