PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend Library will host the opening reception of Art in the Library from 6 to 7:30 this evening.
The exhibit at the library at 1220 Lawrence St. runs through Oct. 21.
The event is sponsored by the Northwind Arts Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization, and the city of Port Townsend.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. Free refreshments will be served.
Representatives of the Northwind Arts Center have selected work by artists Stephen Cunliffe, black-and-white photography; Barbara Ewing, ceramics; Victoria Foster Harrison, encaustic prints; Heather Hart, colored pencil; and Andrea K. Lawson, acrylic, oil on canvas and pastel.
The goals of the Art in the Library program, organizers said, are to provide art for the enjoyment of library patrons and staff, to offer opportunities for artists and photographers to exhibit their work, and to decorate and honor Port Townsend’s historic library.
The Art in the Library program is curated by Polly Lyle.
