PENINSULA DAILY NEWS is holding an online contest to find the best Halloween costumes on the North Olympic Peninsula.

We’re looking for the scariest, silliest, cutest or most creative costume in three categories — Kids, Pets and Adults — and there will be first, second and third winners in each category.

The PDN “all species” Halloween Costume Contest is free, but only residents of Clallam County or Jefferson County can enter photos.

There are prizes to be won, courtesy of the contest’s sponsors, plus the first-place winners will be published in the PDN.

The contest sponsors are Sunny Farms Country Store; Elwha River Casino; Laurel Lanes; Olympic Vet Clinic; Sergio’s Hacienda restaurant; Ld’s Woodfire Grill; Air Flo Heating; First Federal; The Co-op Farm & Garden; and William Shore Pool.

To enter, click on http://ww2.peninsuladailynews.com/contests/costume2013.html.

You can also enter by going to www.peninsuladailynews.com and look for the orange “Costume Contest” button in the middle of the webpage (below “Hot Links” and just left of “Peninsula Poll.”)

Pick the contest category you’d like to enter (or enter all three categories), then follow the instructions for registering and submitting your photos.

All entries must be submitted on the web — sorry, no entries by mail or in person.

Deadline for entries is 6 p.m. Nov. 2.

Winners will be chosen by the public in online voting that begins at 6:01 p.m. Nov. 2.
