SEQUIM — The Kiwanis Club of Sequim-Dungeness will sell emergency water purification filters from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 30.
The club will sell the filters in front of the Mariner Cafe, 609 W. Washington St.
The club is offering the Emergency-H2O Water Filter Roll-up system for $50 each, proceeds will benefit Kiwanis programs in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley.
According to a press release, the system will filter up to 10 gallons per hour, removing 99.99 percent of bacteria and can filter 3,000 gallons.
Current emergency management recommendations suggest that households store 30 gallons of fresh water per person, high-efficiency water filters can help to provide additional safe drinking water during a disaster.
