PORT TOWNSEND — Olympic Community Action Programs is seeking volunteers to assist with its 2025 Point in Time Count in East Jefferson County.
Those interested are asked to call Sheila Rand at 360-385-2571, ext. 6214, or email jeffcopit@olycap.org by Jan. 7.
The annual census, which will be conducted Jan. 30, is part of national effort to count the number of people experiencing either sheltered or unsheltered homelessness.
Information from Point in Time counts are used to allocate federal funding and resources for developing housing strategies.
Locally, it will guide the planning for Jefferson County and service providers such as OlyCAP, Bayside Housing & Services, Dove House and OWL360.
This information also will inform decisions regarding the allocation of essential services such as food, winter warming services and medical assistance.
