PORT ANGELES – A “virtual” Veterans Affairs clinic opened Monday – but just a crack.
A full opening is expected in three to four weeks, according to Jeri Rowe, director of public affairs at the VA’s Puget Sound Health Care System.
“They are literally testing things this week,” she said Monday as the VA was swamped with calls about the facility at 1005 Georgiana St.
“It’s a soft opening. They’re test piloting to see if the systems are going to work,” Rowe said.
The Georgiana Street office belongs to Olympic Medical Center, whose officials announced Friday that the long-sought clinic would open Monday.
Peninsula Daily News could not reach Veterans Affairs officials for confirmation.
Rowe called Monday’s PDN story “a little misleading.”
What VA officials are “trying to do now is get a few people in to test the system,” she said.
