PORT ANGELES — The trial of a Port Angeles man accused of causing a wreck that sent seven people to the hospital in February is scheduled to begin April 9.
Raymond U. Arndt Jr., 34, has been charged with vehicular assault after a three-car wreck Feb. 11 three miles east of Sequim on U.S. Highway 101.
His trial is expected to last three or four days, according to court documents.
Christopher S. Sherwood, 40, of Victoria, the driver of one of the vehicles, was transported from Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment of extensive leg injuries.
Sherwood, driving a van with five passengers, Randall F. Gregg, 61, of Port Angeles and one passenger were driving westbound when Arndt’s Saturn crossed the centerline, hitting Gregg’s vehicle, then striking Sherwood’s van head-on, according to troopers.
Seven people, including Arndt, were taken to OMC for treatment of injuries from the wreck.
