Vehicle licensing office open today in Forks

FORKS — Forks will have its own new vehicle/vessel licensing office beginning today after West End residents have been having to come into Port Angeles for more than a year.

The office is at 261 Cedar Ave. in Forks. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday though Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. The phone number is 360-374-2229.

The Clallam County Auditor Shoona Riggs announced the reopening of the office in a press release issued late Friday.

The previous West End Vehicle Licensing sub-agent office closed at the end of November 2021.

The new county sub-agent is a private business, Forks Vehicle Licensing, which has been appointed by the state Department of Licensing and which has no affiliation with the previous ownership.

Forks Vehicle Licensing will provide title and license services for vehicles, motorcycles, vessels, watercraft, travel and utility trailers.

Customers also can renew registrations, get a report of sale, get trip permits and disabled placards. Initially, customers will need to pay with cash or check until the credit card system is set up.

Clallam County partners with the state Department of Licensing to issue and renew vehicle and vessel licenses. Through this partnership, Clallam County also contracts with local businesses, called sub-agents, to offer convenient locations to conduct in-person licensing.
