DISCOVERY BAY — Travelers can expect overnight, single-lane closures each weekday on U.S. Highway 101 from Gardiner Road to West Uncas Road beginning as early as April 22.
During the overnight closures, drivers will follow a pilot car through the work zone.
The work will continue through late summer, according to the state Department of Transportation (DOT).
Crews will repave eight miles of U.S. Highway 101 east of the Clallam-Jefferson County line to the U.S. Highway 101/state Highway 104 interchange.
Repaving the highway surface helps reduce potholes and wheel ruts, state transportation officials said.
In addition to repaving the highway, DOT will make bridge deck repairs to Salmon Creek Bridge and Snow Creek Bridge.
Late night ferry riders or those traveling across the Hood Canal Bridge should plan extra time to reach their destinations, state officials said.

No work will take place from May 3-12 and July 19-21 for the Sequim Irrigation and Sequim Lavender Weekend festivals, transportation officials said.
