SEQUIM — Two women had been treated and discharged from Olympic Medical Center by Saturday after a two-car wreck on U.S. Highway 101 east of Sequim on Friday night.
Jo L. Buettner, 65, of Port Angeles hit another car from behind on U.S. Highway 101 about a mile east of Sequim near Simdars Road at about 10 p.m., the State Patrol said.
Ludovico R. Cristofaro, 72, and passenger Daniela M. Cristofaro, 70, both of Chehalis, were stopped for traffic on the highway in that area.
Buettner’s red 2011 Ford Fiesta station wagon struck Ludovico Cristofaro’s black 2009 Chrysler 300 sedan, the State Patrol said.
Daniela Cristofaro and Buettner were taken to OMC by ambulance, the State Patrol said. Ludovico R. Cristofaro was reported as not injured.
Both women had been treated and discharged as of Saturday morning, according to an OMC nursing supervisor.
The State Patrol listed the cause of the wreck as Buettner driving too fast and failing to stop for traffic.
The wreck blocked the eastbound lanes of Highway 101 for about 45 minutes, the State Patrol said.
