PORT ANGELES — Authorities arrested a man believed to be federal fugitive Leslie G. Wilson about 12:40 p.m.
Police are preparing to reopen Eighth Street.

PORT ANGELES — U.S. marshals were en route at about 11 a.m. today to a house at the corner of Eighth and A streets because police think a man wanted on a federal warrant may be hiding in it.
Leslie G. Wilson, 37, is wanted for violation of probation related to a federal felony, said Port Angeles Deputy Chief Brian Smith.
Police have the street blocked at Eighth and B streets, and have a command center set up on the Tumwater Creek bridge on Eighth Street. The exact address of the house surrounded by police cannot be seen from the perimeter of the area.
Smith said that at 8:15 a.m., a police officer who was acting on information provided to the Police Department thought that Wilson might be in the house at Eighth and A streets.
He saw a man matching Wilson’s description enter the house and called for back-up.
After more officers arrived, four people came out of the house and talked with police.
None was Wilson, Smith said.
The four people, who are now out of the house, told police that they heard someone enter their garage this morning, and that they believed a crawl space in the garage had been disturbed, as if someone had entered it.
Police believe that Wilson may have entered the house uninvited and may still be there, Smith said.
Officers tried to make verbal contact, but since they have not received an answer, they can’t confirm if anyone is in house now, he said.
Police presume that, if he is in the house, he could be dangerous.
Smith did not know Wilson’s original conviction, or where he is from.
Smith asked that anyone who has spoken to Wilson or who has any information, phone the police at 360-417-4970.
