PORT ANGELES — The city of Port Angeles has condemned the Chinook Motel.
The approximately 50-room motel at 1414 E. First St. — once part of the Best Western chain and popular for its outdoor swimming pool a half-century ago — was shut down by the city due to a long list of health and safety violations noticed during a June 17 inspection.
The state Department of Health also inspected the motel, but had taken no action by today.
The motel was built in 1948.
