FORKS — A trunk line severed in Castle Rock, south of Centralia, knocked out CenturyLink telephone service on the West End, but service was restored around 6 p.m.
Although PenCom, the emergency services communications dispatch, said 9-1-1 service was always operating, but reports out of Forks indicated that no landline or cellular service was working for much of the afternoon. Credit cards could not be processed, and bank teller machines were out of service.
