Authorities now report that traffic is being allow to pass the scene on shoulders of Highway 104 at the direction of the State Patrol.

DISCOVERY BAY — Both lanes of state Highway 104 near its junction with U.S. Highway 101 were blocked this afternoon (Thursday) after a single-motorcycle wreck resulting in injuries to the rider.
Jefferson County Sheriff Tony Hernandez told the Peninsula Daily News that two motorcyclists were eastbound on Highway 104 at about 1 p.m. when an unidentified car heading west crossed into the eastbound lane attempting to pass another vehicle.
The car did not strike either motorcyclist, Hernandez said, although one rider swerved to avoid the car and slid the bike onto its side.
The motorcycles were traveling between 50 and 60 mph, Hernandez added.
Bike and rider, who was wearing a half-shell helmet and riding leathers, slid for about 20 to 25 feet before coming to a stop, Hernandez said.
The rider was taken by East Jefferson Fire-Rescue crews to Discovery Bay, where he was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Hernandez said.
The name and residence of the motorcyclist were not immediately available.
The other motorcyclist was unhurt, Hernandez added, and the car involved continued without stopping.
State Patrol and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were seeking more information about the car, Hernandez said.
