SEQUIM — Power went out today for the second time in the past week in the SunLand area north of Sequim.
Here’s the latest statement from the Clallam County Public Utility District:
Power to a portion of the SunLand neighborhood in Sequim was lost at approximately 10:00am this morning. Approximately 75 customers were initially affected. Crews were able to get one section back up by 1:30pm while they worked to locate the source of the problem, leaving approximately 35 remaining customers without power.
A damaged termination out at the road and a damaged transformer were discovered. The crew was able to feed a phase from the other direction and get the power back up for most of the customers while they made repairs. By 2:30pm most customers had power restored, with the exception of four customers off of one damaged transformer on Sunland Drive. The crew is currently working to replace the bad transformer and restore power to the last few customers within the next 2-3 hours.
This message is current as of 2:35pm.
