UPDATE — Port Hadlock woman hurt in wreck

DISCOVERY BAY — A Port Hadlock woman was airlifted to a Seattle hospital after a single-car wreck at mile post 282 on U.S. Highway 101 at West Uncas Road this afternoon.

Lanes in both directions were blocked for about an hour after the wreck at about 1:42 p.m.

A 1993 Buick Regal driven by Mitchell Kuss, 22, of Port Angeles was traveling south when it went off the road and hit the embankment, the State Patrol said.

Passenger Desiree Taylor, 22 was extricated from the vehicle and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in

Seattle with serious injuries, said Trooper Russ Winger, State Patrol spokesman.

The driver was not hurt, the State Patrol said.

Traffic was managed with alternate lane access until both lanes were reopened at about 3:15 p.m.

All lanes were reopened by 3:15 p.m. at the site of a 2 p.m. collision near West Uncas Road on Discovery Bay, the state Department of Transportation said.

The northbound lane could be closed again after a State Patrol detective arrives, Transportation said.

DISCOVERY BAY — A collision has blocked all lanes on a section of U.S. Highway 101 near Gardiner Road on Discovery Bay.

The wreck at mile post 281 was at about 2 p.m. today, the state Department of Transportation said.

State Patrol and other emergency personnel are on the scene, Transportation said.

No other information was available at 2:20 p.m.
