SHINE — Passenger ferry service just south of the closed Hood Canal floating bridge, stopped shortly after noon today because of high winds, resumed at 6 p.m., the state Department of Transportation said tonight.
The free shuttle involves two Victoria Express passenger ferries between Jefferson and Kitsap counties.
The bridge was closed May 1 for eastern-half repairs that are expected to continue into June.
Alternate routes are U.S. 101 along Hood Canal to Olympia or via the car-passenger ferry between Port Townsend and Whidbey Island.
