FORKS — A young man missing since Sunday was found safe and in good condition today in the woods east of Forks.
Alexander Cisneros, 18, was found by searchers more than 5 miles west of his home this morning, lost and disoriented, said Christina Hoekstra, Cisneros’ aunt.
Cisneros was found after family members, friends, and police searched the woods near a rural property above Elk Creek Ridge Road, where police said he was spotted by a resident earlier this week.
A family member who was part of the search team found him sitting on the ground, shaking from the cold and badly scratched but without any major injuries.
“Everyone is just ecstatic,” said Edwin Hoekstra, Cisneros’ uncle.
Cisneros was taken to Forks Community Hospital, where he was treated for the scrapes and scratches, and checked for dehydration and hypothermia.
He was expected to be kept overnight for observation, and his mother, Anna Cisneros, was with him this afternoon, Christina Hoekstra said.
