SEATTLE — The Coast Guard has suspended its search for a fisherman who fell overboard from a commercial fishing vessel about eight miles northwest of the Queets River this morning.
Petty Officer Nathan Bradshaw said the 56-year-old man fell into the water about 1:30 a.m. while setting crab pots from the Westport-based vessel Senja.
He was not wearing a life jacket when he landed in the 48-degree water.
The search involved Coast Guard air and boat crews from Air Station Astoria, Ore., Small Boat Station Grays Harbor, in Westport, and other commercial fishing vessels in the area, covering more than 91 square miles during a period of more than seven hours.
The Coast Guard can resume a search if credible information is received that the person reported missing has survived.

The Coast Guard is searching with a helicopter from Astoria and 47-foot boat from Westport.
Seas are calm and visibility is good, the Coast Guard said.
