PORT ANGELES — Hot chocolate has become a mainstay for Michael Luehrs.
That and company take the edge off cold overnight temperatures and the loneliness of living atop the Red Lion Hotel and Port Angeles CrabHouse restaurant.
Luehrs, the general manager, is experiencing life on top the two-story waterfront hotel in an effort to raise money for United Way of Clallam County.
He said Saturday, the second day of his campout, the fund-raising effort is “going good” despite overnight temperatures in the 20s, breezes off the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the perennial seagulls.
