The United Way of Clallam County has raised more than $247,000 for the 2017 fundraising campaign so far, with more than four months to go in the countywide fundraising effort.
The goal for the campaign is to raise more than $800,000 by March 31.
The mission of United Way, organization officials say, is to “strengthen the community by helping people live safe, healthy and productive lives.” United Way partners with local nonprofits whose programs and services that improve situations for families and strengthen the community.
“Our campaign team has presented to more than 50 groups including nonprofits, service clubs, businesses and organizations,” said campaign chair Laurie Szczepczynski of Sound Community Bank.
“We’re working hard to help everyone understand how United Way supports our 25 local nonprofit partners. As our latest campaign video says, ‘We are more than just the fund raisers.’ United Way also funds and supports important community programs such as the 2-1-1 help line, which is a database of resources for health and human service needs.”
Donations can be directed toward a specific nonprofit or placed in the community fund.
