PORT TOWNSEND — Positions are open for the Jefferson County Planning Commission in districts 1 and 3.
To apply, those interested must complete a volunteer application form. To complete the form, visit the county’s website at www.tinyurl.com/Jeffco-VAF.
Forms also can be printed off the website, completed and then postmarked to Jefferson County Board of Commissioners, P.O. Box 1220, Port Townsend, WA 98368.
Review of applications begins immediately.
The remaining term for District 1 begins as soon as it is filled and will expire in March 2020 with the possibility of an additional term.
District 1 includes the Port Townsend area.
The remaining term for District 3 begins as soon as it is filled and will expire in March 2022 with the possibility of another term.
District 3 extends from southern Oak Bay to South County and the West End.
The commission prepares advisory recommendations to county commissioners.
The group provides a forum for public review of land use and planning proposals such as the comprehensive plan, zoning designations, policies and regulations that guide development activities around the county.
