BLYN — Two people were transported to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles following a two-car collision in Blyn.
Melissa Cox, 31, of Port Angeles was making a left turn out of the Longhouse in a 2005 Honda Accord onto westbound U.S. Highway 101 about 7:10 a.m. Wednesday but failed to yield and struck a vehicle traveling eastbound on the highway, the State Patrol said.
Drugs or alcohol were factors, the State Patrol said.
Cox, who was transported to OMC, was being investigated for driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance, the State Patrol said. Her vehicle came to rest off the roadway, the agency added.
Colin Baudais, 51, of Aberdeen, also was taken to OMC. His 2018 Ford F150 pickup came to rest in the median, the State Patrol said.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, according to the State Patrol.
Both vehicles were totally destroyed and towed from the scene, the State Patrol said.
