PORT TOWNSEND — Two people hurt in a car crash near Jefferson County International Airport were treated and discharged from Jefferson Healthcare hospital.
The crash at about 4 p.m. Tuesday involved a black 2002 GMC Sierra, driven by 80-year-old Charles Cotterill, and a blue 2014 Subaru Outback driven by 45-year-old Heather Frank, both of Port Townsend.
Both vehicles were headed northbound on state Highway 19 toward Airport Road, when the Subaru made a complete stop to turn left onto Airport Road and the GMC struck, pushing both vehicles out into the roadway and blocking the northbound lane.
Cotterail and Frank were transported to Jefferson Healthcare with minor injuries and were later released in stable condition, according to the hospital’s communications director, Amy Yaley
Cotterill was charged with following too closely.
