IRONDALE — A two-vehicle collision sent two people to Jefferson Healthcare hospital Monday morning.
A 20-year-old Port Hadlock woman driving a Honda Accord suffered minor injuries, according to Bill Beezley, East Jefferson Fire-Rescue spokesman.
A 14-year-old passenger riding with her was sent to the hospital for a precautionary evaluation, he added.
The fire department spokesman did not identify either of the two because of department policy developed from privacy laws.
The driver of the other vehicle, a Chevrolet pickup truck, was not hurt, Beezley said.
The driver of the pickup, Graham Logg, 69, of Port Townsend was cited for failure to yield by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Beezley said that a witness told firefighters that a green Honda Accord four-door sedan was traveling west on Irondale Road when a multi-colored Chevy pickup pulled out from Ninth Street directly in front of the Honda at about 9:10 a.m.
The conditions were foggy and Logg said he did not see the Honda when he attempted to make a left turn, authorities said.
The Honda was towed to All City Towing while the pickup was driveable after the wreck.
Traffic was delayed for about two hours as the roadway was cleared.
