PORT ANGELES – Four candidates remained tied to the tracks as the Election Special chugged slowly down on them behind schedule.
Which of them will escape was still too soon to say.
For Port Angeles City Council, challenger Cherie Kidd opened her lead slightly over incumbent Grant Munro for Position 7 with 2,779 votes, or 52.1 percent, to 2,550 votes, or 47.8 percent in returns released by the Clallam County auditor on Friday.
For the Port Angeles School Board, Steven Baxter fared slightly better, boosting his lead over Susan Hillgren, 3,813, or 50.8 percent, to 3,689, or 49.1 percent.
