JOYCE — Two West End men were transported to Olympic Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries following a rollover crash Sunday night on state Highway 112, authorities said.
Fred M. Irving, 60, of Neah Bay was a passenger in the red pickup truck that crashed at about 6:55 p.m. Sunday, the State Patrol said in a press memo.
The door had to be removed to get the passenger out of the vehicle, Joyce-area Clallam County Fire District 4 Chief Greg Waters said in a press release.
Irving was in satisfactory condition Monday morning at OMC, hospital spokesperson Bobby Beeman said in an email.
The driver, Lane A. Moore, 51, of Clallam Bay was transported to Olympic Medical Center, then to Harborview, the State Patrol said.
He was treated and released from Harborview’s emergency department, spokesperson Susan Gregg said Monday morning.
Bystanders said a dog that was in the vehicle ran from the crash and was not found, according to Waters.
Moore was driving westbound on Highway 112 when the vehicle crossed the center line at Deep Creek, the State Patrol said.
Moore struck the eastbound guardrail and overcorrected to the right, his truck rolling before coming to rest on its top in the westbound ditch.
It was unknown if Irving and Moore were wearing seat belts.
The crash remains under investigation.
Fire District 4 responded with an engine, two ambulances, a command vehicle and seven emergency personnel.
Clallam 4, Joyce Fire and Rescue, transported Moore and Irving to OMC.
