PORT ANGELES — Two people were injured when a car being driven on the shoulder of U.S. Highway 101 east of Port Angeles rammed into the back of a stopped car Saturday night.
Telman Idrisov, 25, of Kent had stopped on the eastbound shoulder of the highway near Deer Park Road in a 2003 BMW 745 just after 9 p.m., according to a report by State Patrol Trooper Travis Beebe.
The BMW’s four-way flashers were lit, Beebe said.
At 9:07 p.m., the BMW was hit from behind by a 1990 Ford Tempo driven by Dawn M. Harrell, 45, of Sequim.
According to the state patrol, the Ford Tempo was totaled, and the BMW was damaged.
Harrell had been driving on the shoulder and was cited for suspicion of driving under the influence, Beebe said.
Both drivers were transported to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles for treatment of their injuries.
By Sunday, neither driver was listed as a patient at the hospital.
Both drivers had been wearing their seat belts, according to the report.
