PORT ANGELES — Two people were arrested Saturday afternoon in the shooting death of a 32-year-old man early Friday morning at a mobile-home park on the city’s west side.
Kenneth A. Owens, 39, a Port Angeles-area resident, was booked Saturday evening for investigation of second-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Niccole M. Charles, 35, also a Port Angeles-area resident, was booked at the same time for investigation into rendering criminal assistance.
Port Angeles Assistant Police Chief Terry Gallagher said a decision on final charges will be up to the Clallam County prosecuting attorney.
The arrests followed Friday morning’s discovery of a dead man later identified as 32-year-old Zane L. Bebee of the Port Angeles area.
The body was found underneath a large tree branch on a porch of a coach in the Welcome Inn Travel Trailer Park, 1215 W. U.S. Highway 101.
Gallagher said an autopsy performed Saturday confirmed that Bebee died of a gunshot wound to the upper torso.
The investigation revealed two people may have been involved in the death, he said.
