FORKS — “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer is in Forks for at least part of a weekend celebration that bears her name.
Meyer, whose “Twilight” books inspired a series of movies and built a worldwide following, set the fictional vampires-vs.-werewolves novels in Forks and environs.
It is Meyer’s first known visit to Forks since before the “Twilight” series hit it big.
The author visited the Forks Visitor Center on Friday and was to receive a proclamation from Forks Mayor Bryon Monohan.
