PORT ANGELES — The trials of a man accused of burglarizing three Port Angeles businesses and an attempted burglary of a Sequim business have been postponed.
The trial of Sean Vince Della, 27, of Port Angeles on the Port Angeles charges was moved from April 7 to May 4, while the one on the Sequim charges was postponed from Monday to April 20.
Clallam County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Jesse Espinoza and defense attorneys Ralph Anderson and John Hayden agreed to continue both trials in a Monday court hearing.
Held on $20,500 bail
Della, who waived his right to a speedy trial, is being held in the Clallam County jail on $20,500 bail.
In the Port Angeles trial, Della faces charges of three counts of second-degree burglary and single counts of first-, second- and third-degree theft; second-degree possession of stolen property; and third-degree malicious mischief.
After a lengthy investigation, Port Angeles police tied Della to burglaries that occurred Dec. 9 at Athlete’s Choice, 215 W. First St.; Jan. 31 at Sabai Thai restaurant, 903 W. Eighth St.; and Feb. 1 at Spotlight Tanning & Apparel, 715 E. First St.
Police collected cellphone and surveillance videos from the businesses and clothing retrieved from Della’s apartment as evidence.
Della was arrested Feb. 1 after the owner of Spotlight Tanning & Apparel and four others tracked him to a Lauridsen Boulevard apartment.
Sequim case
In the Sequim trial, on a November incident, Della is charged with second-degree attempted burglary of the White Cup Espresso, 291 W. Washington St., Sequim; possession of heroin; and making false or misleading statements to a public servant.
Espinoza has said Della faces a sentencing range of 33 months to 43 months if convicted on all counts.
Defense attorneys have said they are still waiting for evidence.
Clallam County Superior Court Judge Christopher Melly set a March 27 status conference for both cases.
